Reflection

Well, I think that I've done a great job in my brochure. I know this because I took my time and I researched my information, I followed the design cycle. Also I decorated my brochure with paintings around some words. I think that at least I deserve at least a high B.

My Outline

Celebrities bad behavior is covered more in news stories than positive behavior because...

Topic Sentence #1-Magazines publish mostly bad stuff about celebrities because they get more money.

Topic Sentence #2-Also because it will cause attention to people so they will forget about the good or positive things the person did.

IA#2 (Introduction)

Celeberties problems cause much more attention to public, this probably happens because most people like dramma. But many people don't realize that the celeberties are no better than any normal people, they are  not even better than criminals.

Project is due by thursday

Well Im planing to finish my project by thursday by working on it at my house

My Progress

Well my progress in technology class has been good. Im already going to start with my creating part of my design cycle project, so this means that im already done with my investigate part and my plan part.

Tuesday, October 4, 2011

The total amount of minutes that im going to take on my project is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Thursday, September 29, 2011

10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it. I am going to make a powerpoint because it is going to be easier to make and it will be a better explenation.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment? To explain to  a sixth grader exactly what the design cycle is.
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment? To try my best and to help the sixth grader understand what the design cycle is and how important it is to use it.
13. How will you "test" your project?By using the brochure.

AGENDA
1.            DO NOW: Reflect on your progress and rate yourself using criterion A: Investigation-QUIA (20 min)(summative assessment-60%)
2.             Guided Practice: Students will learn what design specifications are & give samples.  Demonstrate Design Specifications tests. (10 min)
3.            Independent Practice: PUBLISH TO YOUR BLOG Design Brief +Design Specifications for your product.(30 min)

DESIGN SPECIFICATION
The Design Specification is the most crucial element of the Investigate phase of the Design Cycle

A good Design Specification should include information that you learned about the task/problem from your research.
It is a list of requirements that your design ideas must meet plus a list of constraints that you have. It is the check list that you need to use when you start to make your design ideas.
After your research you can develop a Design Specification.
DESIGN BRIEF, DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS & TEST DUE AT END OF PERIOD-by THURSDAY-CUT THIS FROM YOUR FIRST POST AND ANSWER THE QUESTIONS
 Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
13. How will you "test" your project?
STUDENT SAMPLE!! DO NOT COPY THIS IS AN EXAMPLE!! Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.  For my project I am going to create a Storybook/ Comic Strip that describes the Design Cycle in a very simple way.  I am going to make it so that a 6th grader can comprehend the Design Cycle without getting confused.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?  My assignment must be clear and simple to understand and under 2 minutes.
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?  The limitations of this project is the time because 2 minutes is not long enough to be able to thoroughly explain the design cycle.
13. How will you "test" your project?  I will test my project by giving out surveys/ tests to the 6th graders and review how well their answer and responses are.
DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS
Simple for a 6th grader to understand
Teach a 6th grader the Design Cycle
6th graders will be able to identify the steps of the Design Cycle
Will be a minimum of 2 minutes long
About 5 pages long on Storybook
Not that distracting from the point
Made by Comic Master program online
Possible to transfer onto a pen drive
Be able to use while offline
   Possible to save and copy
Must be able to be created in given time
Simple to base off another project
Can not be too difficult to break
Test
I will give them a survey that has 10 test questions about the design cycle.
I could test my product if it was successful or not by analyzing the students surveys.  I will be successful if they are able to answer 7 out of the 10 corrections on their survey.

Comparing Slide Show

In the tool that I chose, (Slide) I gave it a 5 in simplicity because it is very easy to use. I also gave it a 5 because of more reasons, one important reason is because it has alot of effects and that will attract a 6th grader, and thats very easy to do.
In themes I gave it a 4 because I think that it doesnt deserve a 5. I like the themes of Slide but it is nothing compared to its simplicity and its font. But most of the themes I like them its just a few that i dont like, but themes is going to be a good idea to use for decorations.
In font I gave slide a 5 because there is many fonts to use from. And not only that they are all really good and they are good decorations. Also font fixed the themes because some themes are like bad, so if I put a really nice font it will look really cool.

SLIDEROCKET
In Slide Rocket I gave simplicity a 3 because it was kind of in the middle of being hard and easy, but its not even worth it becauseits harder to do than Slide and Slid is much better.
In Themes I gave it a 1 because the themes are mostly bad and the ones that are good they are nothing compared to the ones in Slide.
In font i gave it a 2 because i thought it was a 1, but it is much better than themes so I decided to give it a 2 because it will make the themes much better.

Day 2 Investigation Reflection

Today i decided to do a slide show for my technology project because i thought that it would look better than if i  did my own drawings, also because it will also be more clear for the sixth grader. The two tools that i chose for slide show were SLIDE, and SLIDEROCKET. I think that SLIDE is a little bit better because you can create effects and SLIDEROCKET has nothing creative so I would pick SLIDE as my slide show tool.x

Area of Interaction: Community and Service , Approaches to Learning & Human Ingenuity
Significant Concept: Design Cycle can be used to solve problems
Unit Question: How can my learning help my community? How do I make Sound Choices?
INVESTIGATE: (Write in complete sentences) Identify the Problem
1. What is the problem you need to solve? Explain to a 6th grader what the design cycle is all about by creating a presentation. (3d, PPT, movie, game, Poster)
2. How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world?
3. How will this project serve my community?
4. How can my learning help my community?
5. How do we live in relation to each other?
6. How does this help others?
7. What are the requirements for this assignment?
8. What is the Design Cycle?
REFLECT on your learning.
Day 2
9. Spend one day experimenting with DESIGN CYCLE your presentation. List five things your learned about the Design Cycle:
Day 3
Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
13. How will you "test" your presentation?
REFLECT ON YOUR LEARNING
PLAN:
14. Brainstorm ideas. Use the chart below
IB Brainstorming Chart .pdf found in schoology under “materials”& then files
15. What idea did you choose to demonstrate the design cycle and why did you choose it?
16. Does your idea meet all of the requirements?
17. Use the story board paper below to plan your presentation.  Include how many levels you will have, what will be on each level, how will you include teaching skills to young students, and what will your questions be about.
story board.pdf found in schoology under “materials” & then files.
18. Explain how you will use your time to get your project finished in 12 days:
REFLECT on your learning
EVALUATE:
20. How could you improve your presentation?
21. Does your presentation meet all of the requirements?
